White House Recreation and Community Centers

Expanding a City’s Recreational Opportunities
White House, Tennessee

The city of White House, Tennessee, located roughly 25 miles north of Nashville, had long relied on public schools to host recreational league games and events. Thanks to a newly constructed 68,000-square-foot recreation center, the city now has a space of its own to host events without competing with local school schedules. Located in the same area, a new 32,700-square-foot community center creates a versatile community gathering space and supports the needs of city officials.

The two-story recreation center features an indoor walking track, space for esports gaming, a weight room, basketball courts, and a full gymnasium. We provided full mechanical and electrical engineering and security technology design services for the building. The new technology systems include:

  • Structured voice and data cabling with corridor pathways and new telecommunications rooms
  • Community access television cabling and expansion of the performance specification of the distribution system
  • Televisions
  • Access control system
  • Video surveillance system
  • Audio/visual systems
  • Design and specification of raceway and outlet boxes for system devices

The three-story community center features community space, a senior center, codes offices, city offices, a space for the board of alderman, kitchenettes, and an outdoor splash pad. We provided mechanical and electrical engineering services throughout the building and its many amenities, including for the outdoor splash pad’s maintenance and operations building.

To support the city’s significant increase in population, we designed both facilities to accommodate projected future growth. Our mechanical and electrical updates also allow for expansion to additional square footage, should the need for additional capacity arise.
