Springfield Gardens/Springfield Lake Reconstruction

Springfield Gardens Renewal
New York, New York

$53 million

Phase D

We supported New York City's efforts to relieve chronic flooding and improve neighborhood traffic flow in the Springfield Gardens area of Queens. Working with a roster of city agencies, we designed improvements to degraded ecological conditions in Springfield Lake so that stormwater can be naturally conveyed and treated. Our designs reduce peak flows, provide stormwater flood control, improve water quality, and restore natural areas by replacing invasive plants with native vegetation.
