Studying and Designing Improvements for Four High Schools
Pittsylvania County, Virginia

Our team performed a study and subsequent design services for improvements for Pittsylvania County’s four high schools. The schools were completed in 1965 and have only had one addition made since that time. The study focused on educational program needs and how to address deficiencies at each school.

The team provided a physical assessment of each school, determined options for school improvements, and provided cost estimates for the two options that were developed. The study was performed through a series of design meetings with key school administrators, school principals, select teachers, and a group of students and teachers from each school. Presentations were made to the school board and a building program totaling $65 million was selected. Detailed phasing plans were prepared as the projects were completed while each school was in session.
