Dewberry announced that Paul Nietzschmann, PE, has joined the firm as a vice president and infrastructure group leader in the New York City office.

Nietzschmann brings 40 years of extensive experience in highway, pedestrian, and rail bridge design throughout the New York metropolitan area. His background includes rehabilitation of major long-span bridges, many of which required complex staging to maintain service.

“I’m excited to bring my experience in New York City to enhance Dewberry’s ability to deliver bridge, highway, rail, and other infrastructure projects of all sizes and complexities,” says Nietzschmann.

Nietzschmann earned a master’s in civil engineering from Columbia University (1981) and a bachelor’s in civil engineering from City College of New York (1978). He is a professional engineer in nine states, including Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, as well as the District of Columbia. Nietzschmann is a Life Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Met Section and served as president of Municipal Engineers of the City of New York.

“We’re pleased to have Paul join our New York team. He brings a wealth of knowledge in bridge engineering and design-build projects, and will help Dewberry expand our capabilities for larger bridge and highway projects in the New York metropolitan area,” states Senior Vice President John Boulé, II, PE.
