Dewberry announced that Major James Covington has joined the firm on a one-year rotational program, allowing him the opportunity to broaden his experience in the consulting industry.

Major Covington joins the firm after serving as the Chief of Engineers' aide-de-camp in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). He has been serving in the U.S. Army for 17 years and has been in the engineering industry for 15 years. During his rotational program, Major Covington will spend time working on projects and among teams in various Dewberry departments, including alternative delivery, water, resilience, transportation, site/civil, and land planning and development, as well as various corporate departments.

Among his numerous awards and honors are two Bronze Star Medals, four Meritorious Service Medals, two Army Commendation Medals, and an Army Achievement Medal. Major Covington is an active member of multiple professional organizations, including the Army Engineer Association, Association of the United States Army, Military Officers Association of America, and the Society of American Military Engineers. He earned a master's degree in civil engineering and construction management from the University of Texas (2007) and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the United States Military Academy (2003). Major Covington has his certification in the Fundamentals of Engineering in the state of New York.
