Dewberry has announced that transportation engineer Lauren Ohotzke, PE, has been named Young Professional of the Year for 2018 by the American Council of Engineering Companies' New Jersey Chapter (ACECNJ).

Ohotzke will accept the award at ACECNJ's annual Engineering Excellence Awards, which recognize the accomplishments of New Jersey's engineering industry and contributions that members have made to their local communities through engineering design and construction.

Ohotzke has more than nine years of experience in transportation engineering, primarily working on highway design projects for the New Jersey Department of Transportation. Additionally, she was extensively engaged with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection on the Superstorm Sandy waterway debris removal project.

Ohotzke obtained her bachelor's in civil engineering from Villanova University (2009) and will obtain her master's degree in engineering management from Rowan University in the fall of 2018. She is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Society of Highway Engineers, and Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS). She has been active on committees of the WTS Philadelphia chapter and assisted in the development and deployment of the chapter's Learn from a Leader lecture series. Ohotzke is also active with the New Jersey TransAction Conference & Expo and moderated the ADA Curb Ramp Compliance Panel at the 2016 TransAction Conference.
