In addition to his promotion as rail engineering department lead, Vera has been promoted to associate vice president. He has more than 15 years of experience in the analysis and design, field inspection, modification, and rehabilitation of railroad and highway bridges, culverts, and other transportation related structures. Vera has worked with many clients in this sector, including Conrail, Norfolk Southern Corporation, NJ TRANSIT, New Jersey Department of Transportation, and Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. In his role as department lead, Vera will oversee rail and engineering services and support the growing needs of the firm’s clients.

Vera earned a master's in structural engineering from Cornell University (2007) and a bachelor's in civil engineering from the University of Puerto Rico (2006). He is a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies, American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association, American Short Line and Regional Association, American Society of Civil Engineers, and New Jersey Railroad Association.
