Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that Matt O’Connor, PE, Assoc. DBIA, has been promoted to associate vice president as a part of its national titling program. O’Connor is based in the firm’s Lakeland, Florida, office and currently serves as department manager for the Florida water group.
O’Connor joined Dewberry in 2021 and has over 25 years of experience in design, project management, and construction management for water/wastewater and stormwater facilities. His project management experience spans retrofits and new facilities, as well as water system audits, utility relocations, pipe replacements, pipeline route analyses, water treatment facilities, and water production facilities to support alternative water supply.
“Matt’s ability to lead complex projects to benefit our communities makes him an asset to our firm,” says Dewberry Vice President and Business Unit Manager Robert Beltran, Jr., PE, DBIA. “We’re excited to see him continue to strengthen employee, client, and community relationships in his new role.”
O’Connor earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of South Florida (1998). He is a member of the American Water Works Association and the Florida Water Environment Association.
