Newton has more than 10 years of renewables and utility experience in Florida. Prior to joining Dewberry, he served as program manager for Duke Energy’s Florida Reliability Program. In this role, Newton oversaw client relations and project deliverables. His expertise spans business development, eminent domain, right-of-way (ROW) acquisitions, regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, transmission and distribution utilities, and transmission land acquisition forecasting and budgeting.

Newton earned his master’s in business administration from University of Arizona Global Campus (2017) and a bachelor’s in economics from University of Arizona Global Campus (2012). He currently serves as a board member for the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens and holds a real estate broker’s license from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (2013).
