Before joining Dewberry, Malek served as chief growth officer for an architecture and engineering firm, working across the Northeast and Southeast regions to integrate key acquisitions that supported the firm’s growth initiatives. Prior to this, Malek served as chief executive officer of a consulting practice, leading a multidisciplinary team of over 350 employees in the energy, environmental, land development, transportation, and water market segments to align services with client goals. He has over 40 years of experience across the infrastructure and civil markets, including 25 years with a focus on the New York metropolitan area, and over a decade in strategic leadership positions.

Malek earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Florida Institute of Technology (1999). He is a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
