Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that David Stein, GISP, has joined the firm as a senior associate and program manager. In his new role, Stein will be responsible for supporting the growth of the firm’s technology solutions practice, as well as program management for state and local markets.
Prior to joining Dewberry, Stein worked for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) where he co-led its ocean geographic information systems (GIS) portfolio and served as a technical lead for the Coastal Geospatial Services Contract. He has three decades of experience in coastal and ocean mapping, GIS application development, ocean policy, government contracting, and partner engagement.
“Given my passion for ocean and natural resource conservation, I’m excited to join Dewberry where I’ll have the ability to support projects that involve applying GIS technology to address resource management challenges,” says Stein.
Stein earned a master’s degree in geography and geospatial technology from East Carolina University (1997) and bachelor’s degree in political science and government from the College of Charleston (1993). He is a member of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing’s Florida Chapter and the National States Geographic Information Council.
