With more than 40 years of experience, Thiel has spent the last 24 years overseeing Dewberry’s federal and geospatial and technology practice, which he will continue to do in his new role. Additionally, Thiel will be responsible for optimizing the firm’s opportunities with the One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services Plus (OASIS+) contract, which was awarded by the U.S. General Services Administration, including staff augmentation.

Thiel earned two bachelor’s degrees from Brenau University, one in business administration and another in fire protection. He is a member of ESRI’s Partner Advisory Council, the National Geospatial Advisory Council (NGAC), Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and is on the board of directors of the Management Association for Private Photogrammetric Surveyors (MAPPS). Thiel was also the co-founder and first president of the National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC).
