Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that Derek Marshall, PE, LEED AP, has been named operating unit manager for the firm’s newly established commercial utilities division. This division includes Dewberry’s services and clients that fall under the telecommunications, electric vehicle, renewables, and energy market segments.
Marshall, who has been with Dewberry for more than 10
years and is currently a vice president, previously served as the department
manager for the site/civil and land development group in the firm’s Richmond
office. Additionally, he’s spent much of his time with Dewberry supporting commercial
utilities clients, including telecommunication and energy clients on the east
coast and growing the firm’s energy practice.
“As the needs of our clients are changing, our firm is
adapting to these adjustments and reorganizing in a way that will allow us to
best meet their needs,” says Marshall. “I’m thrilled to take on this new role
and grow our commercial utilities division to create additional synergy
internally, which will allow us to better serve our clients.”
Marshall earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
from Western Kentucky University (2005). He is a member of the American Society
of Civil Engineers and a 2022 graduate of the Lead Virginia program.
