Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, announced that Mike Conaboy, PE, has joined the firm as vice president and business unit manager in Long Beach, Calif., to oversee the transportation practice.
Prior to joining Dewberry, Conaboy was an executive vice
president and national design-build executive at Michael Baker International,
Inc. He brings a background of more than 30 years of professional experience in
transportation, design-build, water, facilities, and federal programs through
all phases of the project process, including planning, design, construction
management, and program management. Conaboy has worked in numerous roles
throughout his career, including Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
lead engineer, transportation project manager, department manager, program manager,
office executive, regional manager, and national practice lead while working
from Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and California.

Conaboy earned a master’s degree in civil and
environmental engineering from George Washington University (1996) and a
bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from Drexel University
(1991). He has been active during his career with volunteer organizations,
including the Peace Corps and Engineers Without Borders, where he serves as a
professional mentor for student chapters. In addition, he was a part-time
adjunct professor at Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania in
their graduate engineering programs. Conaboy is a member of the Design Build
Institute of America, Engineers Without Borders, and Returned Peace Corps
Volunteers.
