Prior to joining Dewberry, Rogers was the chief geo data officer for the state of Wyoming’s Department of Enterprise Technology Services where she developed implementation plans for an enterprise geographic information system (GIS). She also worked with GIS users at all levels of government and academia to improve workflows and GIS curriculums. Rogers brings more than 20 years of experience in natural resource management, enterprise systems, GIS, and remote sensing technologies.

“Karen’s experience and extensive knowledge of GIS and geospatial data in both state and national governments will be instrumental in helping Dewberry’s clients adopt geospatial technology,” says Dewberry Vice President and Senior Program Manager Mark Safran, GISP, CP. “We are so excited to welcome Karen to our team where she will play a crucial role in developing and providing GIS, data analytics, and remote sensing solutions that will help our clients advance their operations.”

Rogers earned her bachelor’s in anthropology from the University of Wyoming (1995), and is the former president of the National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC) and Wyoming Geospatial Organization. She currently serves as a chair for the Wyoming Next Generation 9-1-1 GIS working group and NSGIC Western States Caucus, co-chair for the NSGIC Member Resources working group, the NSGIC representative to the Coalition of Geospatial Organizations, the NSGIC liaison to the National Tribal GIS Council, and the National Geodetic Survey State coordinator for Wyoming.
