Lara
Richard, AIA, LEED Green Associate, has been selected as a member of the
American Institute of Architects (AIA) Houston chapter’s Christopher Kelley
Leadership Development Program’s 2019-2020 class. Richard is one of 16 emerging
professionals from Houston selected for the program.
The year-long Christopher Kelley Leadership
Development program’s curriculum focuses on core skills, such as
entrepreneurship and firm management, the art of negotiation, bringing in new
clients, community leadership, industry culture, and developing one’s future
within the practice. The program was founded in 2013 by the Emerging Architects
Committee as part of the AIA-DC chapter in memory of Christopher Kelley, who
was an active member of the Washington, D.C. architectural community.
Richard has been with Dewberry for four years and has worked on a variety of
healthcare facilities, including the Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. Richard
earned her bachelor’s in architecture from the University of Houston (2012),
and is a registered architect and a registered interior designer in Texas. She
is also a member of AIA.
“We are beyond proud of Lara for her selection
into this prestigious program. Her passion and individualism have helped her
excel in her career thus far, and I look forward to seeing how this program
helps her continue to be an emerging leader in the field,” says Dewberry
Principal Dustin O’Brien, AIA.
