Dewberry announced that Curtis Sanno, PE, CBSI, has been promoted to business unit manager in the firm’s Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, office. In his new position, Sanno will be responsible for management of the office’s daily operations and serving clients in the areas of highway, bridge, and transportation services.

With more than 15 years of experience in structural engineering, Sanno has worked on numerous bridge projects with technical expertise in preliminary design as well as preparation of final plans, specifications, and estimates for bridge elements. His experience includes steel plate girders, steel rolled beams, steel truss superstructures, prestressed concrete superstructures, timber superstructures, and reinforced concrete substructures.

Sanno has served as the project manager on multiple projects, including the Little Muncy Creek Pratt Truss, which was an American Galvanizers Association highlighted project. He also has extensive experience working with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and works closely on PennDOT emergency on-call contracts. “Curt has really gathered support from the entire Mechanicsburg team on all of his initiatives to make Dewberry one of the top firms in central Pennsylvania. This clearly shows their respect for him as a leader, and I look forward to seeing what he accomplishes in this new role,” said Craig Johnson, president of Dewberry’s northeast operations.

Sanno earned a bachelor’s in civil engineering from Pennsylvania State University (2002), is a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation-certified bridge safety inspector, and is a professional engineer in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. He is a member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association, Association for Bridge Construction and Design, and American Council of Engineering Companies. Sanno is also a member of the American Society of Highway Engineers, where he serves on the Board of Directors.
