Dewberry announced that John J. Coffey, PE, has been promoted to associate vice president in the firm's Bloomfield, New Jersey, office.

Coffey has over 35 years of experience in program and project management, design, and value engineering for transportation projects. At Dewberry, Coffey has managed concept development through final design and construction for bridge and highway projects, including rehabilitation and reconstruction of roadways and bridges, roadway intersection improvements, ADA compliance, and design of partial and full highway interchanges on both interstate, state, and county roads. Coffey recently oversaw the completion of the multiple award-winning, $178-million Route 3 over Passaic River project, which is one of the main corridors leading from New Jersey into New York City.

Coffey obtained his bachelor's (1980) and master's (1985) degrees in civil engineering from Manhattan College. He is a licensed professional engineer in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and American Society of Highway Engineers.
