Dewberry is pleased to announce the promotion of water expert and department manager Sam Fleming, PE, to associate vice president in the firm's stormwater and resilience department.

Based in the firm's Atlanta, Georgia, office, Fleming has been with Dewberry for nearly 10 years and worked in the civil engineering industry for 23. Having worked in both the public and private sectors, his expertise includes water resources, transportation, and site/civil engineering, with his primary area of focus being stormwater infrastructure planning and design. Since joining the firm, he has been heavily involved in stormwater infrastructure system assessments, dam safety, culvert improvements, emergency response, stream restoration, floodplain studies, and expert witness services. Previously, Fleming worked for Gwinnett County where he directed the engineering and construction section of the division and managed major capital programs.

Fleming earned both his bachelor's (1992) and master's (1993) degrees in civil engineering from the University of Alabama and is a member of the American Public Works Association, Association of State Dam Safety Officials, Georgia Association of Floodplain Managers, Georgia Association of Water Professionals, and the Southeast Stormwater Association.
