U.S. Army Capt. Kyle Brinks, PMP, LSSGB, has joined Dewberry as part of the Army's Engineer Regiment training with industry (TWI) rotational program. The TWI program was designed to develop soldiers who are experienced in high-level managerial techniques and understand the relationship of their industry to the functions of specific Army branches.

Over the course of Brinks' one-year rotation, he will divide his training time among several departments at Dewberry, including engineering, consulting, architecture, and firm management to gain a broader understanding of industry operations. While remaining on active duty, he will assume responsibilities within a broad spectrum of Dewberry's practice areas, service lines, and business units. He will gather experience in strategic planning and business development, as well as proposal, project, financial, and personnel management.

Brinks is the third candidate to participate in the TWI program at Dewberry and began his rotation on June 30. Prior to starting the program, he has served for eight years on active duty with two combat deployments. Most recently, he served as a Company Commander for the 21st Engineer Battalion, 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Brinks earned his master's degree in engineering management from the University of Missouri-Rolla and his bachelor's degree in business administration and management from Furman University. He is a project management professional and lean six sigma green belt certified.
