Natural resource department manager Brian Sayre and wetland scientist Michelle Measday have received their certified floodplain manager (CFM) credentials from the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM). Both sought CFM certification in an effort to become more effective advisors to local leadership. They join a growing group of nearly 200 Dewberry professionals with such certification.

Sayre, who joined Dewberry in 2002, was part of the team working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York City's Office of Long Term Planning, and the New York City Department of Environmental Protection to develop a flood protection plan for the Oakwood Beach area of Staten Island, New York. The project provides an integrated approach to mitigate flood effects from coastal storm surge and future climate change.

Measday, who joined Dewberry in 2009, recently worked with Sayre to provide environmental and historic preservation reviews for federally funded programs in response to Superstorm Sandy for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

Sayre received his bachelor's degree in environmental sciences from the University of Virginia and a master's in environmental studies from Montclair State University. Measday received her bachelor's degree in geology from Rutgers University and a master's in environmental engineering from Montclair State University.
