Dewberry, a privately held and nationally ranked professional services firm, has recently hired Charles Ruzicka, LS, as a senior surveyor. He will split his time between the firm's Baltimore and Lanham, Maryland, offices. Ruzicka will develop and extend Dewberry's survey and mapping capabilities to multiple market sectors in the mid-Atlantic region. His responsibilities will include business management, strategic plan development, and the mentorship of a team of surveyors and engineers.

Ruzicka has more than 28 years of surveying experience with executive-level management for a regionally based operation with multiple offices. He has been responsible for managing a wide variety of mapping projects across a diverse client base, including the preparation of products and deliverables for state, municipal, federal, and private projects. Ruzicka has worked with a variety of mapping techniques and technologies, such as GIS, mobile and airborne LiDAR applications, 3-D laser scanning, aerial photogrammetry, subsurface utility location, and bathymetric survey applications with multi-beam and side-scan sonar data collection.

Ruzicka is a member of the National Society of Professional Surveyors, Maryland Society of Surveyors, the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce, the Home Builders Association of Maryland, and the District of Columbia Association of Land Surveyors.
