Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has recently hired Evan Hill, PE, CME, as land development department manager in the firm's Mount Laurel, New Jersey, office. In his new role, Hill will be responsible for managing and expanding upon the office's civil and geotechnical engineering services. His diverse engineering, real estate, and business development background will allow the firm to further develop opportunities in the residential, commercial, industrial, and renewable and utility energy markets.

Hill has more than 18 years of experience in land planning; civil, municipal, and geotechnical engineering; and real estate development. Additionally, he has served as adjustment engineer for the Jackson Township Zoning Board for more than eight years.

Prior to joining Dewberry, Hill managed an engineering team responsible for the design and permitting of more than 300 megawatts of net-metered and grid connected solar projects throughout the East Coast. He also worked for one of the nation's largest residential developers and was responsible for land acquisition, due-diligence, community layout and design, and managing project team consultants during the land use approvals process.

Hill holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a geotechnical emphasis from Michigan Technological University.
