Dewberry, a leading professional services firm, has been selected by the county of Essex, New Jersey, to develop a comprehensive transportation plan. The plan will consist of improvements to current infrastructure that preserves open space for the rapidly growing population.

The plan will provide new momentum for transit oriented-design to support the recent increase in bus ridership and rail transit, due to the completion of the Montclair Connection. Redevelopment opportunities will also be included to utilize the large number of historic train stations within neighborhoods.

Dewberry will evaluate the comprehensive needs of the county's transportation users to identify clearly defined goals and objectives for long-term purposes.
