Our goal in serving federal agencies is to be a valued and trusted partner, sharing in the mission of government service to the American people. We strive to mirror agency structures within our own organization, fostering effective and efficient communication at every level of contract and project management.
We pair experienced project managers with the right talent and subject matter experts from across our company to offer specialized expertise and industry insights that help advance the design and performance of government facilities and the processes and products of program management initiatives. We maintain an in-house contracts division with extensive FAR experience to ensure our compliance with federal contracting and reporting requirements.
Serving the Government
From nationwide service and planning contracts to individual project commissions, Dewberry professionals serve the federal government with innovation and efficiency. Our commitment and services extend to agencies such as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and many others. Our work for the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) spans several decades and has enabled us to support hundreds of communities across the nation.
For forty years, we've supported FEMA's efforts to help communities better understand risks associated with natural disasters. Most recently we've supported the RiskMAP program, helping FEMA in creating new, non-regulatory products that enable communities to gauge risks and use flood insurance study data to develop communications and mitigation plans. In supporting FEMA's response to disasters, we have applied lessons-learned to help community leaders manage debris, assess infrastructure and facilities, and shelter special-needs populations. We have extensive insight and experience into how national disaster events are prepared for, managed, and mitigated.
We have partnered for many years with USGS to provide a range of geospatial products and services. Our deep knowledge of USGS standards and the latest in mapping technology has enabled us to support the agency on several major initiatives, from the earliest applications of LiDAR data and digital orthophotos to services and products for ongoing development of the National Map. Our work extends from coast to coast, including a pioneering effort to prepare new maps of the state of Alaska.
We have supported the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), the nation's largest landlord and developer, with new construction, modernization, and interior fit-out projects for decades. Our background in the design of public buildings and commercial office space enables us to meet GSA requirements in terms of tenant agency function, civic presence, security, flexibility, sustainability, and cost. We put our best talent to work on projects ranging from feasibility studies and needs assessments to high-performance, green building modernizations and signature design commissions.
We help our federal clients maximize the value of facilities through asset management. Understanding what assets an organization has, how to use them efficiently, how to optimally maintain them, and what assets are no longer needed are challenges every agency must address to be successful.
An Extension of DoD's Engineering Corps
We have been partnering with the U.S. Department of Defense, including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, for decades. We have supported our nation's military programs and installations in times of war and peace, through two major BRAC efforts, and during reorganization and consolidation. We work closely with defense agency clients, delivering high-quality and effective design, engineering, and consulting services that support our military leadership, personnel, and families.
Our knowledge of DoD programs and requirements enables us to serve as an extension of agency engineering programs, offering additional capacity, specialized expertise, and private-sector innovations to make military facilities more efficient and effective. We invest in former military engineering corps leadership and support our experts with a full spectrum of engineers and specialized consultants - a diverse and skillful team ready to respond to DoD's planning, facility, and infrastructure needs across the nation.
