Apple Canyon Lake Pool and Bath House Improvements

Reversing the Clock on a 40-year-old Pool
Apple River, Illinois

25%

more people supported in new bath house

The Apple Canyon Lake Pool and Bath House was built in the 1970s, at a time when it was acceptable for pool water to be discharged directly into lakes used for fishing, and ADA compliance was not necessary. We replaced the 40-year-old pool with one that includes zero-depth entry, interactive water features, and a 12-foot diving well. We also redesigned the existing bath house to support 25 percent more people than before. ADA compliance was a challenge due to the 12-foot grade from the parking lot to pool deck, but the vertical platform lift we designed not only provides wheelchair access, but a great view of the lake and pool.
