The joint venture of Gannett Fleming and Dewberry was recently awarded a contract by the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) to provide professional engineering services for restoration, operation, maintenance, repair, replacement, and rehabilitation projects. The SFWMD manages and protects South Florida water resources throughout a 16-county region, providing flood control, water supply planning, water quality improvement, and ecosystem restoration.
The contract provides engineering services for a
variety of water and environmental projects, including those related to
Everglades restoration, as well as water storage, pump stations, water control
structures, dams, levees, and channel projects. The joint venture firms provide
SFWMD a responsive, dedicated team of experienced professionals to deliver
high-quality, technically sound, and innovative design solutions within the
required budget and schedule requirements.
“Our combined experience in the water and
environmental markets enable us to provide a collaborative approach that will
result in reliable and resilient designs delivered on time and within budget,”
says Dewberry Associate Vice President and Deputy Project Manager Rey Malave,
PE. “The SFWMD is home to one of the nation’s most valuable natural resources, the
Everglades, and our joint venture team is thrilled to be working in support of the
protection and restoration of this renowned national landmark.”
