Dewberry announces that Jose "Tony" Buitrago, PE, PMP, has joined the firm's Jacksonville, Florida, office as a senior associate and senior project manager. He will support the firm's business development efforts in the Southeast region.

Buitrago brings more than 35 years of experience as a program management professional, successfully directing significant design, construction, and program management organizations in the water resources and public infrastructure sectors. He led program management teams for top engineering firms, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and the Department of Defense. As an Army veteran, Buitrago served for more than 23 years as an active-duty combat engineer, completing multiple tours with USACE. His primary focus will be leading resilience projects contracted by USACE.

A native of Puerto Rico, Buitrago earned his Master in Business Administration from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico and his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Puerto Rico. He is a professional engineer in Virginia and a certified project management professional. He is a member of the Project Management Institute, the Society of American Military Engineers, the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, and a former researcher of the Construction Industry Institute.
