Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has been selected as a cooperating technical partner (CTP) consultant by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD). The firm will be issued task orders to determine statewide flood risks under the Risk MAP program as part of a CTP agreement between DOTD and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region VI.

As part of the three-year $5 million contract, Dewberry will determine flood risk using hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, field surveys, and remote sensing data. Professionals will assess potential mitigation actions and devise strategies to communicate flood risk to communities and stakeholders. Subsequent tasks may involve developing flood insurance rate maps (FIRMs) and flood risk products, performing post-preliminary processing, conducting open houses and technical training, overseeing lidar collection, and analyzing dams and levees.

Dewberry will lead a project team that includes Bender Consulting Services, Inc., The Estopinal Group, Quality Engineering & Surveying, LLC, and Precision Aerial Reconnaissance, LLC.
