Dewberry is pleased to announce the promotion of Amar Nayegandhi, CP, CMS, GISP, to vice president, and Daniel Bubser, GISP, to associate and department manager in the firm's Tampa, Florida, office.

In addition to his duties as director of remote sensing and business unit manager, Nayegandhi also manages the day-to-day operations of Dewberry's geospatial and technology service line. With more than 18 years of experience in the remote sensing industry. He has authored 15 refereed manuscripts, compiled more than 65 data series and reports for the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), and presented at more than 75 international conferences and workshops. Nayegandhi is currently overseeing a 4,000-square-mile topographic and bathymetric lidar data collection and processing project in Puerto Rico, a remote sensing project to identify and track seal and polar bear movements in Alaska, and recently finished mapping the east coast of the U.S. from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to Long Island, New York, for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). He authored a recent study that evaluated new and potentially disruptive Geiger mode and single photon lidar technologies for USGS' 3-D elevation program.

Nayegandhi earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Mumbai and his master's degree in computer science from the University of South Florida. He is a member of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) and chairs its topobathymetric lidar committee. Nayegandhi is certified as a photogrammetrist, mapping scientist of remote sensing, and GIS professional.

Bubser has 16 years of experience in lidargrammetry, photogrammetry, GIS, remote sensing, and photo interpretation. Specializing in wetland and benthic habitat interpretation using stereo and orthophotography, he manages a team of analysts that edit lidar to produce topographic and bathymetric models, analyze geospatial and remote sensing data, and produce environmental maps for local, state, and federal clients. Bubser is currently involved in the 4,000-square-mile Puerto Rico lidar project and a 3,753-square-mile lidar project in the Chesapeake Bay. He earned his associate's degree in GIS from Hocking College and is a member of ASPRS.
