Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has hired Joseph (Joe) Keezel, PE, as a senior project manager in the firm's Orlando, Florida, office. He will support the firm's Central Florida transportation practice by guiding staff through project design, documentation, coordination, and schedules, and providing overall project management.

Keezel has more than 20 years of experience designing major transportation systems and thoroughfares, working primarily on Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) projects. He has managed several major highway projects, including a capacity project that widened a rural four-lane state highway to an urban six-lane section; replaced twin bridges; and updated drainage, signing, pavement markings, and signals. He was roadway engineer for a $20.5-million, five-mile, design-build interstate widening project that included widening two bridges and modifying another, extending acceleration and deceleration lanes, and providing new closed drainage systems. Keezel was engineer-of-record for the widening of approximately seven miles of Florida state road from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane divided arterial. The site included ten stormwater ponds, right-of-way expansion, a habitat connectivity structure, intersection reconstruction, and utility coordination.

Keezel received his bachelor's degree in environmental engineering from the University of Central Florida and is a certified engineer in the state of Florida.
