Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that Craig R. Johnson, PE, has been awarded the firm's prestigious Harold Williams Award for Professional Excellence. The award was recently presented by Chairman Barry K. Dewberry in recognition of Johnson's management expertise and professional leadership.

Johnson has spent his career with Dewberry, joining the firm in 1981 and rising to the position of executive vice president. Currently, he is assisting in leading the firm's transportation service line with a focus on expanding the rail sector and Dewberry's design-build experience with additional clientele. Through much of his career, Johnson has served as primary client manager for the New Jersey Department of Transportation. His major project responsibility is the $900-million I-295/I-76/Route 42 Direct Connection project, which broke ground in March 2013.

An active member in numerous professional organizations, Johnson has been president of New Jersey's chapter of the American Society of Highway Engineers, and currently serves on its scholarship committee. Johnson values his commitment to younger professionals in the engineering industry and to his community, highlighted in his involvement with the state's rebuilding efforts following Superstorm Sandy.

Dewberry's achievement award is named in memory of Harold Williams, PE, CLS, a principal and director of special projects for the firm for 20 years until his death in 1987. Presented annually to a Dewberry employee, the award recognizes excellence in managerial and leadership skills, dedication to the firm and the profession, mentoring of colleagues, effectiveness in change management, and integrity.
