Neal T. Wright, PE, PMP, Dewberry vice president and director of business development-DOD, has been named a Fellow of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE).Wright's selection recognizes his “devoted service and vast contributions to our society and our honored profession," noted Dan J. Wittliff, PE, F.NSPE, president of NSPE. “I am deeply honored to share this distinguished level of NSPE membership with Neal."

A long-time member of NSPE, Wright is currently a Virginia Delegate to the organization's national House of Delegates. He also serves on the Virginia Society of Professional Engineers board of directors, and previously served as president and vice president.

“NSPE is an outstanding organization that serves to advance the engineering profession and engage the community," says Wright. “I am gratified to have been able to contribute in a meaningful way through the years."

The honor represents the third time Wright has been recognized with the status of fellow by a national professional organization. He is also a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). Wright also serves as a regional vice president in SAME and was recently appointed co-chairman of SAME's Warrior Transition Task Force, focusing on transitioning military engineers into the civilian workforce.

Wright is a professional engineer licensed to practice in Virginia and Maryland. He is also a certified Project Management Professional.

Based in Dewberry's Virginia Beach, Virginia, office, Wright oversees Dewberry's national initiatives for delivering consulting services to the U.S. Department of Defense. He has more than 35 years of experience and has also served as an officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and as chief engineer for a major commercial port. Wright holds a master's degree in civil engineering from North Carolina State University and a bachelor's degree in environmental planning from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
