As lead engineer on the Shirley Contracting Company, LLC, team, Dewberry, a national professional services firm, has been selected to design the construction of the new Sycolin Road Overpass of the Route 7/15 Bypass in Leesburg, Virginia. The purpose of the $19.6-million project is to improve safety and operations by building a grade-separated bridge for Sycolin Road over the Route 7/15 Bypass and removing the existing signalized intersection. The new bridge will include two northbound and two southbound 12-foot travel lanes, a sidewalk along the southbound lanes, and a barrier-separated shared-use path along the northbound lanes.

When complete, access to the Bypass from Sycolin Road will be maintained primarily via Battlefield Parkway and the Dulles Greenway; highways also designed by Dewberry.
