Dewberry, a nationally recognized design and consulting firm, has announced the establishment of a new office in Frederick, Maryland. The office is the firm's eighth in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area and the fourth in Maryland.

The new office, located on Ballenger Centre Drive, will support land development projects in the region for both public- and private-sector clients. Services include surveying, planning, land design, civil engineering, and landscape architecture.

Michael R. Snyder, PE, has been named manager of the office. Snyder has more than 25 years of experience in providing land design services in Maryland, and has been with Dewberry for 22 years. Current projects under his direction include planning, surveying, and preliminary engineering for the Frederick Brickworks property, an 80-acre mixed-use development in Frederick; and planning, surveying, and engineering for the Mason-Dixon Country Club, an 850-acre residential/commercial golf course development in Frederick County, Maryland, and Adams County, Pennsylvania. Maryland projects also include Westphalia Town Center and Greenbelt Town Center in Prince George's County, Swan Point in Charles County, and Bevard Farms in Clinton.

Snyder's senior engineering team in the office includes Joanne Cheok, PE, and Marc Mezzanotte, PE. Employees are already at work on several projects in the area, and will also be teaming with other Dewberry offices nearby, including locations in Baltimore, Gaithersburg, and Lanham, Maryland; and Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The firm is a member of the Frederick Chamber of Commerce and the Frederick County Builders Association.
