Wacissa Springs Restoration

Restoring a Natural Habitat for Local Wildlife
Jefferson County, Florida

2

project phases

Due to unmanaged stormwater runoff and foot traffic, sediments were filling the Wacissa springhead. During Phase I of this project, we restored the spring by defining access points, stabilizing shorelines, and removing exotic vegetation from the spring.  The Phase II improvements will consist of asphalt parking with both impervious and pervious pavement to control sediment runoff to the springhead, additional shoreline stabilization and planting, boardwalk construction, and pavilion construction.  We are also providing construction administration services.
