Dewberry has announced the promotion of nearly 60 employees nationwide, including four staff members in its Fairfax, Virginia, office. The promotions coincide with Dewberry's ongoing expansion of engineering, architectural, and consulting services in the mid-Atlantic, where the firm has practiced since 1956.

These promotions include:

  • Molly Johnson has been promoted to chief communications officer. She oversees the corporate communications department, which is composed of 11 writers and designers. She directs both internal and external communications and media relations for the firm’s 2,200+ employees across more than 50 offices as well as many of the firm’s knowledge transfer and change management initiatives. Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree from Davidson College (1994).
  • Stacey McKavish has been promoted to senior associate and is the recruiting and regional human resources director. Her expertise includes full lifecycle recruiting, sourcing, developing, and implementing effective recruitment solutions for strategic, complex, and hard-to-fill positions. McKavish earned a bachelor’s degree in health services administration from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania (2005), and holds a DiSC certification.
  • Kimberly McVicker and Lisa Cochran, PHR, have been promoted to associate. As communications manager, McVicker oversees the day-to-operations of the written communications team, including content creation and strategic planning. She earned a bachelor’s degree in theater from Radford University (2003). Cochran is the regional human resources manager, where she partners with leadership on retention strategies and developing talent. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from James Madison University (2008) and holds a DiSC certification. Cochran is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management.
