Dewberry has announced that John Adams, PE, has been promoted to vice president and transportation leader across the firm’s southeast region. The firm has also announced that Carl Gibilaro, PE, has been hired as the transportation department manager over the firm’s North Carolina operations.

Located in Dewberry’s Raleigh, North Carolina, office, John Adams joined the firm in 2017 and has more than 25 years of experience. In his new role, he is responsible for growing the firm’s transportation services across the Southeast. The firm serves major transportation clients, including the Virginia Department of Transportation, North Carolina Department of Transportation, and Florida Department of Transportation, as well as municipal and private clients.

Adams earned a master’s degree (1993) and bachelor’s degree (1991) in civil engineering from North Carolina State University. He is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and the Professional Engineers of North Carolina (PENC).

Carl Gibilaro is based in the firm’s Charlotte, North Carolina, office and will oversee statewide transportation projects. The firm has roughly 30 transportation professionals in North Carolina between its Raleigh and Charlotte offices. Prior to joining Dewberry, Gibilaro spent four years as the project development practice leader for a consulting firm in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Gibilaro earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from North Carolina State University (1989).
