Dewberry recently announced the promotion of more than 65 employees nationwide, including five staff members within the firm's Richmond and Danville, Virginia, offices. The promotions coincide with Dewberry's ongoing expansion of engineering, architectural, and consulting services throughout Virginia, where the firm has practiced since 1956.

  • David Maxwell, PE, LEED AP BD+C, has been promoted to executive vice president and oversees the firm’s offices across the Southeast, including those in Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and Louisiana.
  • Elizabeth Scarce and Devin Keeler, PE, LEED AP, have been promoted to associate vice president. Scarce, director of marketing in the Southeast, has been with the firm for more than 25 years and is responsible for implementing strategies and marketing plans for the division, which includes nearly 500 employees. She is based in the firm’s Danville office. Scarce earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Elon University (1991) and is a graduate of LEAD Virginia. A civil engineer, Keeler was recently promoted to business unit manager and oversees Richmond’s staff of nearly 50 employees.
  • Derek Marshall, PE, LEED AP, has been promoted to senior associate and is the site/civil engineering department manager in Richmond. He also oversees a number of the office’s telecommunications, energy, and commercial projects. Marshall earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Western Kentucky University (2005) and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
  • Mark Talbert, PE, has been promoted to associate and is a project manager in Danville’s site/civil group. He specializes in industrial and commercial site design, and earned a bachelor’s in civil engineering from North Carolina State University in 2007.
