Dewberry announced that Christian Volz, PE, LEED AP, has joined the firm as a senior project manager to help grow its Charlotte-area water practice.

Volz joins the firm with approximately 15 years’ experience on both the design consultant and owner side of projects. In his most recent role as a senior project engineer and engineering manager, Volz specialized in leading multi-disciplinary teams to implement large capital programs across multiple locations. His expertise includes water and wastewater infrastructure collection, conveyance, transmission, distribution, storage, and pumping. Specifically, Volz has spent many years focused on pipeline and distribution projects.

“I’m excited to join the Dewberry team in Charlotte and provide my project management and design expertise to this booming market,” says Volz. “This area is growing rapidly and we’re excited to offer clients the superior water and wastewater expertise they need to meet their evolving challenges.”

Volz earned a bachelor’s degree in biological engineering with an environmental emphasis from the University of Missouri (2004) and is a professional engineer in multiple states. For the past eight years, he has been a distribution committee member for the Illinois Section of the American Water Works Association. He has also served on the board of directors for The Sun Foundation and Friends of the Illinois River. Volz volunteers as a troop advisor and den leader for the Boy Scouts of America.
