Preserving Covered Bridges
Pennsylvania has the most covered bridges in the US, with more than 220.  Ohio is next with approximately 140, followed by Vermont, Indiana, and New Hampshire.  There are just over 1,000 authentic covered bridges remaining in the nation.

Currently, Dewberry is overseeing the restoration of several covered bridges.  For a case study on a recently completed project in Bradford County, Pennsylvania, visit "A Bridge To The Past" in the May/June issue of Dimensions .

For additional resources, visit The National Society for the Preservation of Covered Bridges (www.vermontbridges.com/nspcb1st.htm ).

Regional sites include a guide to covered bridges for Southeastern Pennsylvania (www.drexel.edu/top/bridge/CB1.html), Vermont (www.virtualvermont.com/coveredbridge/), and Oregon (http://home.attbi.com/~draft10/bridges/bridges.html ).
