Welcome to the virtual tour of the Sidney O. Dewberry historical museum of early American surveying and engineering technology. Mr. Dewberry takes you through a brief video introduction of the museum after which you can launch the interactive virtual tour. Please read the following viewing requirements before starting the virtual tour.
Requirements:
Browser: Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher; Netscape 6 or higher;
Screen resolution: optimal is 1024 x 768;
Audio: speakers or headphones for the video and the Flash introduction portion of the virtual tour.
Flash plug-in: You may be prompted to install the Flash player.
IPIX plug-in: You may be prompted to install the IPIX plug-in. Click "Yes". This prompt may take a few seconds to appear when you first enter the museum.
Instructions: Once you are inside the museum, the iPIX plug-in allows you a total 360-degree view of the room and instruments. A "pointing hand" cursor will indicate what direction you can move. By holding your left mouse button down and moving the mouse in the direction of the "pointing hand", that part of the room will swing into view. Many, but not all, instruments will display a pop-up description as you move your cursor over the instrument. By double-clicking on the instrument while the pop-up is visible, you can view a larger image of the instrument and an in-depth description. To exit the museum, move your mouse arrow to the center of the floor and double-click the exit circle or click the "Close Window" button.
