Route 7/River Creek Parkway Interchange

Connecting the Community
McLean, Virginia

As a key component of an overall development plan in Leesburg, Virginia, we provided design and construction services for the Route 7 and River Creek Parkway Interchange. Privately funded, the interchange provides primary access to the Village at Leesburg, a mixed-use urban community with housing, national retail chains, and restaurants.

Selected from a series of conceptual design studies which compared access alternatives, we factored in the following criteria:

  • traffic and various interchange configurations with respect to the client's needs and VDOT approval
  • features to enhance adjacent communities
  • impacts to adjacent historic and natural resources
  • stormwater management
  • significant utility conflicts and relocation
  • architectural features
