Niles Police Station

A Presence for Public Safety
Niles, Illinois

5

awards recognizing project design

Reflecting the police force mission of "protect and serve," the Niles Police Station emphasizes community outreach and the presence of public safety within this Chicago-area village. The new building maximized available space on the site while allowing the previous, outdated station to be fully operational throughout construction. The station houses vehicles, a firing range, and a fitness area on the lower level; and patrol, evidence processing, storage, detainee processing, records, and public spaces—including a police "Hall of Honor" —on the main level. Investigations and administration are housed on the top level.
