Responding to the City of Baltimore's need to comply with state and EPA consent decree, we prepared a plan for the outfall sewershed - which encompasses more than 3.6 square miles, contains 2,206 manholes and approximately 368,325 linear feet of gravity sewer - to eliminate sewer system overflows. Based on evaluation and model simulation results, our primary recommendations called for removing sediment in the 99-inch outfall interceptor and relief sewer and eliminating a hydraulic constraint at the Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant.
