Dewberry has announced the promotion of nearly 60 employees nationwide, including three staff members in its Richmond, Virginia, office and one in its Danville, Virginia, office. The promotions coincide with Dewberry's ongoing expansion of engineering, architectural, and consulting services in the Southeast, where the firm has practiced since 1975.

These promotions include the following:

  • Derek Marshall, PE, LEED AP; and Dan Villhauer, PE, have been promoted to associate vice president. Marshall is the site/civil and land development department manager in the Richmond office, and has extensive experience in public and private land development projects and has significant experience in the telecommunications market segment. He earned a bachelor’s in civil engineering from Western Kentucky University (2005) and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Villhauer is the manager of the Mid-Atlantic water department, and his expertise includes planning, evaluation, and rehabilitation and/or replacement design of water/wastewater system infrastructure. Villhauer earned a master’s in civil engineering from Virginia Tech (2013) and a bachelor’s in civil engineering from the University of Virginia (2005). He is a member of the American Water Works Association, Society of American Military Engineers, and the Water Environment Federation.
  • Larry Hasson, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, has been promoted to associate principal. Hasson is the architecture department manager in the Danville office. He has extensive experience designing institutional, governmental, commercial, industrial, and military facilities. He earned a bachelor’s in architecture from Virginia Tech (1992) and is a member of the American Institute of Architects, Design Build Institute of America, and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
  • Jason Devine, PE, has been promoted to associate and is a mechanical engineer and project manager in the firm’s Richmond office. His expertise includes the design of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and management of multidiscipline projects for educational, government, commercial, and institutional clients. Devine earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Virginia Military Institute (2005), and is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers.
