Dewberry has announced that Katie Miller, PE, CFM, ENV SP, has been recognized on Commercial Observer magazine’s list of the Top 20 Architects, Engineers, and Contractors under 35.

The publication features a list of the top architects, engineers, and contractors who have built strong portfolios early in their careers. The award recipients are profiled in the October issue of Commercial Observer.

Miller has four years of experience in the planning and design of stormwater and green infrastructure. She is experienced in siting, design, data analysis and stormwater calculations, tributary drainage analysis, database management, and report preparation for various green infrastructure projects. She is also responsible for hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of combined sewer networks and stormwater management planning, and developing solutions to predict and reduce flooding in communities. Miller worked on the development and testing of climate resiliency guidelines for the New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) and the Red Hook integrated flood protection system for the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC).

Miller earned her master’s degree in environmental engineering from Stanford University (2015) and her bachelor’s in civil engineering from the University of California, Berkeley (2014). She is a licensed professional engineer in California and New York, and is a certified floodplain manager. Miller is a member of the Water Environment Federation (WEF), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM). She leads the Emerging Professionals group in Dewberry’s New York office in addition to being a key organizer for the office’s participation in the New York City Exploring Program, teaching local high school students about engineering.
