Dewberry announced that Minden Chan has joined the firm as a senior engineer in the Long Beach, California, office, where he will work closely with the firm's water resilience group.

Chan brings 28 years of experience in coastal studies and will support coastal and ports projects. His expertise includes harbors and marinas, dredging and dredged material management, coastal processes, and coastal environmental quality.

After earning a bachelor's degree in marine engineering from Shanghai Maritime Institute (1982), Chan went on to earn a master's degree in coastal engineering from the University of Hawaii (1990). He earned a second master's degree in coastal water resources and coastal hydrodynamics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1993.
