Dewberry Announces Promotions Throughout Washington, D.C., Metro Region

Firm promotes more than 30 in Northern Virginia and Maryland offices.

Dewberry has announced the promotion of more than 80 employees nationwide, including 30 staff members within the firm's seven offices in Northern Virginia and Maryland. The promotions coincide with Dewberry's ongoing expansion of engineering, architectural, and consulting services in the D.C. metropolitan region, where the firm has practiced since 1956.

Northern Virginia

    In Dewberry's Fairfax, Gainesville, and Leesburg offices, promotions include:

  • Steven Kuntz, PE, has been promoted to vice president in the Fairfax office, where he serves as manager of the roadway design staff in the transportation department.
  • Jeremy Beck, PE, and Mark Unterkofler, PE, were promoted to associate vice president in the Fairfax office. Beck and Unterkofler both work in the firm's transportation department.
  • Thomas Christensen, PE, was promoted to associate vice president in the Fairfax office. Christensen works in the firm's civil engineering group.
  • Wendy Koritko has been promoted to associate vice president. Koritko is the firm's controller based in the Fairfax office.
  • Richard Goldstein, CPA, and Son Dinh were promoted to senior associate in the Fairfax office. Goldstein obtained his bachelor's degree in accounting from the George Washington University (1998) and is a certified public accountant in Virginia. Dinh obtained his associate's degree in computer science from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (1986).
  • Kate Gallagher was promoted to senior associate and oversees marketing efforts for the mid-Atlantic and federal markets and is based in the firm's Fairfax office. Gallagher obtained her bachelor's degree in journalism from Boston University (2006).
  • Stacey McKavish, manager of recruiting in the Fairfax office, was promoted to associate. McKavish obtained her bachelor's degree in health services administration from Slippery Rock University (2005).
  • Jeffery Lewis was promoted to senior associate and is director of the firm's I.T. enterprise solutions systems group in the Fairfax office. Lewis obtained his bachelor's degree in business administration and finance from Longwood University (1986) and his master's degree in business administration from James Madison University (1987).
  • Sean Reney was promoted to director of I.T. operations in the Fairfax office. Reney has 24 years of experience in the information technology field and is a Microsoft certified systems engineer and has a Cisco Certified Network Administration certification. He earned an associate's degree in computer electronics from the Computer Learning Center (1993).
  • Carlos Cordova, a senior systems engineer in the Fairfax office, was promoted to associate Cordova has 17 years of experience managing and leading technical projects and enterprise systems.
  • Martin Kazmierczak, PE, PMP, a member of the water/wastewater group, was promoted to senior associate in the Fairfax office. Kazmierczak obtained his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering (1986) and his master's degree in civil engineering (2001) from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is a licensed professional engineer in Washington, D.C., Florida, Maryland, and Virginia, and is a credentialed project management professional.
  • Rich Brittingham, RLA, a landscape architect in the Leesburg office, was promoted to senior associate. Brittingham obtained his bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (2003), and is a registered landscape architect in Maryland and Virginia.
  • Erik Dull, PE, a senior transportation engineer in the Fairfax office, was promoted to associate. Dull obtained his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (2003) and is a professional engineer in Colorado and Virginia.
  • Carl Kaczmarek, III, PE, a senior transportation engineer in the Fairfax office, was promoted to associate. Kaczmarek obtained his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (2008) and is a professional engineer in Virginia.
  • Robert Scheidler, Jr., PE, a transportation engineer in the Fairfax office, was promoted to associate. Scheidler obtained his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the Pennsylvania State University (2006). He is a professional engineer in Virginia and is an American Traffic Safety Services Association traffic control design specialist and is certified in advanced work zone traffic control by the Virginia Department of Transportation.
  • Karl Fippinger, PMP, was promoted to associate. He is a senior emergency management specialist in the Fairfax office where he leads federal, state, and local preparedness, response, and recovery projects for the disaster recovery services group. Fippinger earned his bachelor's degree in communications from American University (1990), and is a certified project management professional and certified emergency management professional.
  • Paul Longo, PE, a water/wastewater project manager in the Fairfax office, was promoted to associate. Longo obtained his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (2010) and is a professional engineer in Virginia. He holds certificates from the National Association of Sewer Service Companies in manhole assessment, pipeline assessment, and lateral assessment.
  • April Vacca, RID, LEED AP, a senior interior designer in the Fairfax office, was promoted to associate. Vacca earned her bachelor's degree in interior design from Florida International University (2005), and is a registered interior designer, a LEED accredited professional, and holds a National Council for Interior Design qualification.
  • Roderick Williams, RA, LEED AP, a project architect in the Fairfax office, was promoted to associate. Williams obtained his bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Kentucky (1994) and his master's degree in architecture from the University of Cincinnati (2000). He is a registered architect in Washington, D.C., Kentucky, Maryland, and Virginia and is a LEED accredited professional.
  • Adam Siegrist, PE, a senior project manager in the energy solutions group in the Fairfax office, was promoted to associate. Siegrist earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Villanova University (2005) and is a professional engineer in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. He is a certified commissioning professional by the Building Commissioning Association and a LEED accredited professional.
  • Christopher Simon, PE, has been promoted to associate vice president in the Gainesville office, where he manages the firm's construction management and inspection group.
  • Emily McKeown, PE, an assistant department manager in the civil engineering group in the Gainesville office, was promoted to associate. McKeown earned her bachelor's degree in civil and infrastructure engineering from George Mason University (2006), and is a professional engineer in Virginia and is certified by the Virginia Department of Transportation in work zone traffic control.
  • Nicholas Carswell, a senior project manager and construction inspector in the Gainesville office, was promoted to associate. Carswell earned his bachelor's degree in political science and history from the State University of New York at Potsdam (1996) and his master's degree in military history from Norwich University (2007). Carswell is a certified engineering technician by National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies and has a number of Virginia Department of Transportation certifications in construction inspection and site safety.
  • Steven Black, Jr., PE, a senior electrical engineer in the Leesburg office, was promoted to associate. Black obtained his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (2001), and is a professional engineer in Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Maryland

    In Dewberry's Frederick, Lanham, and Rockville offices, promotions include:

  • Daniel Anderton, RLA, a landscape architect/planner in the Rockville office, was promoted to senior associate. Anderton earned his bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from Utah State University (1983) and his master's degree in landscape architecture from the University of Illinois (1985). He is a registered landscape architect in Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania and a licensed landscape architect in New Jersey.
  • Meredith Byer, RLA, a landscape architect/planner in the Rockville office, was promoted to senior associate. Byer earned her bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from Cornell University (1996), and is a registered landscape architect in Maryland.
  • Torben Agesen, RLA, a senior project manager in the Lanham office, was promoted to associate. Agesen obtained his bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from the Pennsylvania State University (1987) and is a registered landscape architect in Maryland.
  • Jennifer Leonard, RLA, LEED AP, a senior project manager, department manager, and senior landscape architect in the Frederick office, was promoted to associate. Leonard earned her bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from West Virginia University, and is a registered landscape architect in Maryland and New York and a LEED accredited professional. She holds a certification in wetland delineation from Maryland and is a temporary traffic control manager.
