Dewberry has announced the promotion of more than 80 employees nationwide, including seven staff members within the firm's Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina, offices. The promotions coincide with Dewberry's ongoing expansion of engineering, architectural, and consulting services in the southeast region, where the firm has practiced since 1984.

In Dewberry's Charlotte and Raleigh offices, promotions include:

  • Shepard Hockaday, PE, has been promoted to senior vice president and works with the firm's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing group as business unit manager in the Raleigh office.
  • Peter Andersen, PE, and Matthew West, PE, LEED AP BD+C, have been promoted to senior associate in the Raleigh office. Andersen is the electrical department manager in the office and chief electrical engineer for the firm. In addition to earning a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Clemson University (1985), he is a professional engineer in multiple states and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. West is the site/civil group leader for the Raleigh office. He earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from North Carolina State University (NCSU) (2004) and is a member of the American Water Works Association and the Water Environment Federation.
  • Christian Matthews, PE, PMP, CEM, LEED AP, Jeffrey Roney, PE, LEED AP, and Patrick Wade, PE, LEED AP, have been promoted to associate, all in the Raleigh office. Matthews is a client manager who specializes in laboratory design. He earned a master's in business administration (2016) and a bachelor's in mechanical engineering (2008), both from NCSU and is a project management professional and a certified energy manager. Roney is a project manager and electrical engineer. He earned a bachelor's degree in architectural engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (2008), and is a professional engineer in multiple states. Wade is a structural engineer and project manager with a focus on asset management. While at NCSU, he earned a master's in structural engineering and mechanics (2006) and a bachelor's in civil engineering (2004). Wade is a professional engineer in numerous states.
  • Tony Miller, PE, LEED AP, has been promoted to associate in the Charlotte office. Miller is a structural project manager. He graduated from NCSU with a master's degree in civil engineering (2006) and from the Virginia Military Institute with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering (2004). He is a professional engineer in numerous states and a member of the National Council of Structural Engineers Association and the Structural Engineers Association of North Carolina.
